I'd better get training because I've been invited to join another Toronto joggler for head-to-head track race in August to try to break the 5000m joggling record. I'll make the official announcement once things are finalized, but it should be an exciting matchup. We're going to have non-joggler pacers on hand to rabbit us under Kirk Swenson's record of 16:55, which was set way back in 1986.
I've joggled of couple of 5Ks on the road – recently the Father's Day Run in Toronto – but this one will be a serious attempt to break the record on the track. Joggling adds about 10 per cent to your running time, which means I'd have to get in about 15:20 shape for the 5000.

Who's the other joggler?
Hey, that would be me, Simon. I have a 'video preview' which sums my attempt up pretty well:

Two of us will be even better and will probably help to raise more money for WWF Canada!
Michal,
I have learned to Joggle with some basic Bean Bag Stress Balls. They are about 2 1/4 inch in diameter and seem too small. It feels like my hands are having to open and close too much. They probably weigh about 6 to 8 ounces. Any hints on what size and weight of Sport Juggling Co. balls that you use??? Or what might work best for a beginning joggler. I learned to juggle many years ago and have run for many years if that helps any. Thanks.
Hey tigerpaw,
I'd go fairly big for beginning. I have a custom set of 2 3/8 that are about 90 grams, but these would bad for learning how to joggle. I only go light to save my arms and run faster for marathons. So I go with 2 5/8 or 2 3/4 and get them slightly underfilled so it's easier to grab them. The 3-inch are probably too big - you'll end up with collisions in a low joggling pattern.
YOu definitely down want to be opening and closing your grip because your arms will tire out. Just run with your palm facing up, crable each catch at the base of your fingers, hold the ball as your arm swings back, then release as it swings forward. The ball should be floating fairly close to your nose (and even closer if you have a big nose like I do).
Have fun!
