I'm Michal "The Joggler" Kapral of Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, and I run marathons and other events while "joggling," an actual sport that combines jogging (or running) and juggling. I hold the Guinness World Record of 2:50:12 for the fastest marathon while juggling three objects. (I also chewed gum every step of the way.)

Joggling the Longboat 10K, again
This year, the Longboat Toronto Island races were held later in September so as not to coincide with the Virgin Festival. It was a perfect day for running -- fairly cool and overcast, with a nice breeze. I joggled the 10K in an attempt to break my own record of 36:27. I was on pace, but had to stop and tie my shoelace around the halfway mark, finishing in 36:50.
This Sunday, I'm racing the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (no joggling this time) dressed as Tom Longboat. I haven't done any long runs, so the results could be disastrous.

Lost your time by stopping to tie your shoelace? Man, that's gotta hurt. Why don't you try Ian's secure shoelace knot? I've been using it for four years now, and have never had a lace come untied in all that time. Plus, it undoes with a single pull, unlike a conventional double knot.
Good luck this weekend!
Sorry to hear you missed your record... but yeah, the later date was definitely better than sharing the island with the festival.
or you could double tie the shoelaces.
Good luck in the marathon. The Longboat outfit should garner as many cheers as the joggling. Although, you might consider doing the last half mile joggling some ship-themed equipment.
Thats just not fair! 2:54 with no loing runs!I did 4 and was 3 minutes behind you!I'll get you Tom Longboat, one of these days!
Hi Anthony,
Yeah, you'll probably get me next time.
Michal
I'm starting a joggling team at my school!
